Covering: Liberton, Craigmillar, Niddrie, The Inch, Cameron Toll.
The local landmark: Craigmillar Castle, one of Scotland's best preserved medieval castles, overlooks the district.
Students: The University of Edinburgh's Pollock Halls of Residence and its BioQuarter medical campus at Little France are both in EH16.
On the ground: A mix of 1930s council semis in The Inch, new-build estates around the Craigmillar regeneration and suburban homes in Liberton. Kerbside works well here: have everything at the door and the driver loads.
While you wait for the van: Little France is said to take its name from the French retinue of Mary, Queen of Scots, who stayed nearby at Craigmillar Castle in 1566.
