The run model

How the shuttle works

One van, one fortnightly loop, full in both directions. That is the whole trick, and it is why sending 10 boxes costs £239 instead of a man-and-van day rate.

The short answer: your postcode decides your day. Cambridge (CB) is Tuesday, London is Wednesday, Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh are Thursday, Oxford (OX) and Swindon (SN) are Saturday. Book online, bring your pieces to the door (or choose Assisted and we carry them), and we text you a 4-hour window the evening before each leg.

The week of a run

Fortnightly cycle
Tuesday

Cambridge day

Cambridge (CB) postcodes are collected and delivered on Tuesdays. Everything travels via our Oxfordshire hub.

Wednesday

London day

London postcodes are collected and delivered on Wednesdays, every corner of the capital from Barnet to Bromley.

Thursday

The Scotland run

The van delivers across Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh in the morning and collects southbound bookings in the afternoon.

Saturday

Oxford and Swindon

Oxford (OX) and Swindon (SN) postcodes are collected and delivered on Saturdays, from Banbury down to Marlborough.

Step by step

1. Book online

Enter both postcodes and we show you the next three runs with exact collection and delivery dates. Pick Kerbside or Assisted, count your pieces, pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You get a reference like SS-K7M2PQ, a confirmation email and a calendar file.

2. Pack and label

Any sturdy box, bag or suitcase up to 30 kg counts as a piece. No special packing rules. Write your reference on each piece; we bring printed labels on the day too. Check the prohibited items list before you seal anything.

3. Collection day

You get a 4-hour window by text the evening before. Kerbside: have everything at your front door and the driver loads. Assisted: the two-person crew comes in and carries everything out, whatever floor you are on.

4. The hub

Everything travels to our Oxfordshire hub, is checked against your booking and held securely until the next leg. Northbound pieces go up on the Thursday Scotland run. Southbound pieces come down and go out on your area's next day.

5. Delivery day

Another 4-hour window by text the evening before. In Scotland we deliver on Thursday mornings; the van then collects southbound bookings in the afternoon. Done.

How long does it take?

Northbound: London collections arrive in Scotland 8 days later, Cambridge 9 days, Oxford and Swindon 5 days. Southbound: Oxford and Swindon arrive 2 days after the Thursday collection, Cambridge 5 days, London 6 days. The exact dates are always shown before you pay, and every upcoming date is on the run dates page.

Why fixed days are cheaper

A dedicated van from London to Glasgow costs hundreds of pounds whether it is full or not. The shuttle fills one van in both directions and splits the cost between everyone on board. You trade date flexibility for a much smaller bill: 10 boxes for £239 instead of a dedicated van, with £50 cover per piece included.

If you need a specific date or a full flat moved, that is a removals job, not a shuttle run. Email hello@scotlandshuttle.co.uk and we will quote it properly.
