Covering: Tranent, Elphinstone, Macmerry.
The local landmark: Fa'side Castle, a restored 15th century tower house, looks out over Tranent and across the Firth of Forth.
On the ground: Terraced streets and council built rows around the High Street, with some of East Lothian's fastest growing new estates on the edges of town. Kerbside works well here: have everything at the door and the driver loads.
While you wait for the van: The wooden waggonway laid from Tranent's coal pits down to Cockenzie in 1722 was Scotland's first railway, with horses drawing the wagons.
