Covering: Innerleithen, Traquair.
The local landmark: Traquair House, said to be Scotland's oldest continuously inhabited house, lies a mile south of the town across the Tweed.
On the ground: Stone mill terraces and flats along the High Street, with newer homes and rural lanes out towards Traquair. Kerbside works well here: have everything at the door and the driver loads.
While you wait for the van: Robert Smail's Printing Works on Innerleithen High Street still prints on Victorian letterpress machines and is cared for by the National Trust for Scotland.
