Covering: Doune, Deanston, Buchany, Argaty, Burn of Cambus.
The local landmark: Doune Castle, familiar from Monty Python and the Holy Grail and as Castle Leoch in Outlander, stands above the River Teith.
On the ground: Stone cottages and modern family estates in Doune and Deanston, with rural lanes out to farms and steadings. Kerbside works well here: have everything at the door and the driver loads.
While you wait for the van: Doune's gunsmiths were famous across Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries, and a Doune pistol is reputed to have fired the first shot of the American Revolution.
