Covering: Crianlarich, Tyndrum, Luib.
The local landmark: Ben More, one of the highest Munros in the southern Highlands, towers over Crianlarich.
On the ground: Small clusters of village houses, lodges and hotels along the A82 and A85, with long drives between addresses. Kerbside works well here: have everything at the door and the driver loads.
While you wait for the van: Tyndrum, with only around 160 residents, is one of the smallest places in Britain with two railway stations, Tyndrum Lower and Upper Tyndrum.
